Founded by a French vinyl enthusiast based in Singapore, La Maison Atlas was born from a simple belief: collectors shouldn't have to search the world to find the pressing they're looking for.

Goldmine Grading Standard

Mint (M)

Absolutely perfect in every way.

  • Media: Never been played, usually still sealed in its original factory shrink wrap. Zero imperfections, surface marks, or audio defects.
  • Sleeve: Flawless with no dents, bends, or signs of handling.

Near Mint (NM or M-)

A nearly perfect record. Realistically the highest grade most collectors encounter.

  • Media: May have been played a few times with extreme care. Glossy vinyl, plays perfectly with no surface noise.
  • Sleeve: Looks freshly brought home from the record store. No creases, folds, seam splits, or ring wear.

Very Good Plus (VG+)

An excellent copy showing slight signs of care-driven wear. The "sweet spot" for collectors.

  • Media: May have light scuffs or superficial scratches that don't impact listening. Very faint crackle between tracks is possible.
  • Sleeve: Minor handling signs like very light ring wear, mildly turned-up corners, or a small cut-out hole.

Very Good (VG)

A noticeably used but perfectly playable copy, offering great value.

  • Media: Surface noise evident during quiet passages, but doesn't overpower the music. Light scratches may be felt with a fingernail. Will not skip.
  • Sleeve: Moderate ring wear, starting seam splits, creasing, writing, tape, or price stickers.

Good Plus (G+) / Good (G)

A placeholder copy used until an upgrade is found.

  • Media: Plays through without skipping, but has significant, constant surface noise, heavy scratches, and groove wear.
  • Sleeve: Heavy damage including major seam splits, overwhelming ring wear, heavy writing, or tape repairs.

Fair (F) / Poor (P)

Severe structural damage; only bought for extreme rarities.

  • Media: Badly warped, deeply scratched, cracked, or skips/repeats constantly.
  • Sleeve: Falling apart or missing completely.

Quick Tips for Buying & Selling

  • Split Grading: Listed as Media / Sleeve (e.g., VG+ / VG).
  • Value Drops: VG+ is roughly 50% of NM value; VG is around 25%; Good is 10-15%.
  • Visual vs. Play Grading: Most sellers grade visually under light unless specified as play-graded.
